Tracking and sighting update

Radar was seen FRIDAY, May 15 in the backyard at 5900 Steamboat Landing Court, NEAR RTES 7100 and 123 in BURKE, VA. A woman knocked on the door there to tell the people she thought she hit their dog, but obviously it wasn't theirs. We think he was there around 11:45 pm.

Our pet tracker confirmed on SATURDAY, MAY 16 that Radar is in that area. If he was hit, he wasn't hit hard because we should have found him laid up somewhere. However, after 3 hours of tracking we were still behind him. The track circled and recircled the area around where the sightings were.

Please let us know if you can help us flyer or search by leaving a comment!

  1. hi-- i have driven through this area a few times each each day/night, for long stretches of time. (i live in the area), and am wondering if Radar is his name, or if its a new name that was just given to him. If its new, do you know what his old name was..? also, what are do you want the most attention for flyering? i can put some out, but was wondering what your priority area is. thanks. leslie

  2. Hi Leslie,

Unfortunately we don't know much about his history, so I don't think we know his real name. I've sent an email to his foster but haven't heard back yet. She may know if he responds to the name Radar.

As far as flyering, we drove through the area last night and there are definitely some places that still need to be flyered. I would say that when you are driving through the area of the sightings, wherever a car has to stop - a traffic light or a stop sign - it's ideal if there's a flyer so that the stopped traffic can see it in all directions. That's the goal at least!

Thanks so much for your help!

  3. Hi! I would love to help pass out flyers and search. I grew up in the area and live over off Guinea road. While visiting my parents tonight I had a note put on my car about another dog that went missing today. We (my dog and I) drove around looking for Radar and Randy, but had no luck. Let me know. 4. Arrin,

We'd love your help--thanks for offering! We're going to do stakeouts over the weekend and always need help both with flyering and with checking and replenishing feeding stations. You can reach me at daphne.levitas@gmail.com.

  5. What does the other dog look like? Someone in the area where Radar was seen saw an older golden retriever loose.
